Hi, I’m  Elva. I am a freelance website designer. I grew up in Las Cruces, NM and am bilingual in English and Spanish (Spanglish). I am an NMSU graduate — my background is in Information Technology (IT).

On October 7-8 2022, I attended our delayed 50th class reunion of Las Cruces High School at Hotel Encanto. It was great seeing so many “old” faces.

I am an avid reader and you will often find me at COAS book stores and at Branigan library. You may view my booklist online.

Years ago, I started dabbling in web design using an older version of HTML, CSS and a web editor. Present day web design technologies have evolved to include many Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. There are many new web technologies — Web Developer Resources

My husband and I met while employed with Department of Defense (DOD), White Sands Missile Range, NM. We later married and continued our commute to the base for many years. I was employed as a Computer Specialist working primarily with Unix/Linux applications. My husband was employed as a Supervisory Field Test Engineer (EE). We are both retired from Department of Defense (DOD).

After retiring from DOD, I accepted employed with New Mexico State University (NMSU), Molecular Biology. I served as webmaster in support of the Score, CDC and Bridges internal program websites at Molecular Biology.

I was later employed as a Systems Analyst and Computer Support Associate with Research IT where I worked with both Windows and Linux servers and related applications. I was responsible for back-end deployment of the below Drupal NMSU Research websites.

We have two grown daughters. Our grandchildren are now eight and five.
